Husband Confesses to Cheating, Wife Gets Revenge

Some words of advice to anyone who has ever cheated on a partner: never ever ever confess. I speak from experience. Only bad things will come out of it. Even if he/she “forgives” you, the transgression will never be forgotten. Everything you do will become suspect. Arrive home an hour later than expected? You’ll be paying for it for a week.
I cheated on my wife one single time with a woman from my job. I felt guilty and regretted it immediately. I confessed my sin to my wife less than a week after it happened. She cried but didn’t get angry like I expected. She claimed to forgive me but would bring it up every day, asking me every question imaginable. For the next two years, I shared my life with a completely paranoid woman who saw just about everything I did as somehow being suspicious. I mean everything. She didn’t speak to me for three days once because I cleaned the inside of my car and she was sure I was trying to hide something that had happened there.
When I finally, after two years, told my wife that I wanted a divorce, she immediately agreed without argument. How could she worry so much about my cheating on her again and then agree to a divorce without a second thought? She had a male “friend,” as she called him, before I’d even had a chance to move out. In retrospect, I have a feeling my wife was cheating on me for at least the last three months of our marriage. Maybe it was longer. Either way, I totally regret my confession. My marriage was probably going to fall apart anyway, but it sure made those last two years a complete hell.

Dear 33, you repeat something that I hear over and over again from cheaters. It is like their mantra “Never Confess”. I am or should I say was the wife of a cheater. We are divorced now. I think that if people put have as much effort into the decision of cheating in the first place as they did into researching someone to have an affair with their would be alot less people like you and I in these situations.

Yes, I should have added that I could have avoided a lot of trouble if I had not cheated in the first place. I wish I didn’t. I’m sure not cheating would not have saved my marriage but it would have have saved me from two years of hell.

your wife could have cheated, depending on her moral standpoint.
but she also could be sick and tired from the lack of trust. being paranoid sucks out a LOT of emotion, and she porbably realized she’ll never be happy or trust you. that’s my experience at least.
