I’ve known for a long time that I’m a real sucker for flattery. It took me a long time to figure out that I shouldn’t jump into bed with a guy just because he tells me I’m beautiful or amazing. But I can’t help but love that kind of attention. At my last day at my last job, everybody took me out for drinks. I got drunk pretty fast and was really touched how everybody wanted to send me off in style. The owner of the company was giving me more attention than he ever had before. I’d always thought he was hot. The guy is only in his mid-thirties but already has this multi-million dollar company. I’d heard he had a house in the Bahamas, so I asked him about it. He told me about the house, which is right on the beach, and then told me that he’d love to take me there for the weekend sometime. He said it with a wink but I knew he really wanted to. He’s married to an absolutely gorgeous woman, and I have a boyfriend, but I know that men like that know how to get what they want. The fact that he would be willing to cheat on his beautiful wife with me just made me feel amazing, I must admit. My legs felt like they were melting under me when I gripped his muscular arm and whispered in his ear that I’d go if he invited me. He laughed like it was all a joke but then put my number in his pocket when I wrote it out for him on a bar napkin. Well, I guess I jumped the gun because I slept with him the next week. He hasn’t mentioned the Bahamas again but he keeps emailing and telling me he wants to see. I haven’t given up hope.
