Girl Cheats on Boyfriend When Away at College

I’ve cheated previously on my boyfriend of 3 years only 6 months into the relationship. We weren’t having sex, and I was 16 and away from home. I had too much to drink and there it went.
But nearly 2 and half years later we are still dating and I am in college. Before going into college my boyfriend dumped me knowing that he couldn’t trust me.
Well he came to visit me about a month into college and then changed is mind about us not dating. I wasn’t sure about it because even though I love my boyfriend to death I felt like it was time to move on since I knew he would never move to New York and I would never move back home.
Last night I cheated. And I feel terrible. I have already made the decision to not tell my boyfriend but perhaps discuss what we really want from our relationship. During the whole cheating act I only thought of him. I love him. But I am not going to be unrealistic about our relationship. Help, please.

you scare the shit outta me because im in the same kind of relationship but im home and my gf is away at school. You gotta tell him because it would be very fucked up to keep going on like that.. ya know?

Don’t tell him if you intend on keeping him. Men can’t look past that kind of thing. Just let it be a one time thing and keep it to yourself. The truth doesn’t always set you free. But I guarantee if you tell him, he’ll walk.

If you don’t think the relationship will last anyway, why keep it from him?
It boggles my mind how women can say “I love my boyfriend to death” but basically END that sentence with “just not enough to tell him the truth” lol.
If you REALLY can’t tell him that you cheated, just tell him “Babe, I want to be with you, but I honestly can’t trust myself up here at college without you here. There are just too many temptations, and I’m a sexual girl. And I don’t wanna hurt you. So maybe we should just take a break, until all this is out of my system.”
THAT way, you’re not confessing that you cheated, but you ARE telling him it’s a big POSSIBILITY.
