Cheating Younger Girlfriend Breaks Man’s Heart

My friends warned me that she was trouble, but I was in love and thought they were just jealous that a middle-aged divorcee like me had a hot 20 year old girlfriend. I mean, she had an amazing personality. Everyone loved her. She was beautiful and had a body that had both men and women staring wherever we went. I’d never had a woman like that all to myself in my entire life. Of course, I didn’t realize that I didn’t have her all to myself at all.
This girl actually had the balls to proposition one of my friends. He turned her down but told me about it. When I confronted her about it, she acts like we made some agreement that we’d have an open relationship. I most certainly had never agreed to such a thing! My voice shook when I asked her if she’d been with other men. She got really mad and started screaming that of course she’d been with other men and did I really think that some old piece of shit like me was going to be able to satisfy her. She actually turned it around and made it seem like I was in the wrong.
Well, that was it for me. I ended it right there. She acted like she didn’t care, but there were tears in her eyes. In retrospect, I think she was just kind of a messed up girl. My friends say she was just in it for my money (I was probably more generous with her than I should have been) but I really think it was more complicated than that. I think she’d been molested as a child. She’d hinted at it. I don’t think that justifies the way she acted but maybe it helps to explain it. When I think back to when I fantasized about marrying and having kids with her, I feel like such an idiot.
