I’ve had enough of these goddamned hillbillies. I came down here after graduation to “help people.” What was I thinking? I thought it would be nice and cool and better than just getting a job if I joined some do-gooder outfit. I didn’t really want to go to Africa or someplace like that and thought maybe I should help people in my own country. You know, the “oppressed.”
I met this guy. Not one of us volunteers but somebody who belonged to the church our organization worked with sometimes. I’m not religious at all, but he seemed to be sincere and there wasn’t much to choose from down there anyway. The thing I hate thinking about right now is that I STARTED getting religious and sometimes had fantasies of me converting and having some dramatic baptism and us getting married and having a bunch of little Jesus freaks together. Ugh.
One day out of nowhere he tells me he has “something of great importance to discuss with me.” Fucker tells me he has “sinned with another.” And get this: they were sinning almost the entire time we were together. Some little UNDERAGE Jesus freak bitch from his church. Then the little pussy starts crying, telling me how sorry he is. And then you know what he did? HE BROKE UP WITH ME!!! I didn’t have a chance to dump his self-righteous evangelical ass.
I have three months left in this prison I’ve sentenced myself to. I can’t wait to get back to the civilized world and get a real job and a real man.
